9.1 Writing a Value

Type the new value in the Write value box (the data type is shown in brackets) and tap W.

· While monitoring, the new value appears at the next reading.

· When not monitoring, PlcEcho writes the value, reads it back straight away and updates the tag.

The write box is not shown for Database tags, which are read only.

Warning: writing a value changes the PLC. A wrong value can make the machine behave unexpectedly. Make sure you are writing to the right tag, and that it is safe to do so, before you tap W.
