FeaturesPLC Echo is a versatile mobile application designed for seamless interaction with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). This app empowers users to read and write data to and from PLCs, providing real-time data visualization in text format, as well as through gauges and trend graphs.
Compatibility:
PLC Echo is intended to be compatible with a broad range of PLCs, including most of Rockwell's Logix series (1756, 1769), Micro850 CIP (currently in preview), and the majority of SLC505 (1747) Ethernet PLCs. It also supports the MicroLogix 1100 with an Ethernet port. While designed for these devices, the app has not been thoroughly tested across all of them, so results may vary.
Beyond Rockwell PLCs, PLC Echo also aims to support several Siemens Ethernet PLCs, such as the S1500, S1200, S200, S200Smart, S300, and S400 series. The app communicates with these PLCs over Ethernet and can manage multiple PLC types within a network, accessible via a wireless access point.
Monitoring and Visualization:
PLC Echo offers continuous monitoring of PLC data based on a frequency-based system. It allows users to configure controllers and their associated tags, enabling them to monitor and visualize data effectively. The app supports two types of trends: one trend per tag, which includes statistics such as minimum, maximum, and average values, and a comparative trend for multiple tags, allowing for easy comparison.
Unique Features:
PLC Echo is exceptionally smart, capable of displaying several tags from different PLCs on a single screen. This feature is particularly useful for PLC programmers, system integrators, and consumers who require a simple, reliable commissioning tool.
Availability and Limitations:
PLC Echo is available for free with a limited tag capacity (up to five tags), allowing users to test the application before committing to a purchase. Being part of the Smart-Tools® series, PLC Echo can be up and running within minutes after configuration, saving significant costs.
