There are two options to download and install PlcData ;
Use the "PlcData.LoggingService_Bundle_Release_1.0.0.0.exe" which will install the windows service And the licensing app.
Install the windows service and the license app separately by using "PlcData.LoggingService_Release_1.0.0.0.msi" and
"PlcData.LicensingApp_Release_1.0.0.0.msi".
Which ever option is selected to install the software the same option should be used to uninstall it. It is assumed the bundle will be used for installation.
1. Locate the Installation file and double click on the bundle exe file. The following windows appears.
2. Read the ULA and tick the "I agree to the license terms and conditions" IF YOU AGREE. The install button is now enabled
3. Click "Install". The following windows appears
4. When the installation is complete the following windows appears
5. Click close to close the setup window.
6. Observe The PlcData licensing app blues icon is now present on your desktop. This is for license check and indicates if your system is licensed or not The is also a licence manager to register a license , activate and de active licenses.
7. Navigate to the services (local) windows where windows services can be seen. Observe that PlcData.LoggingService is present and stopped.
8. Go to the XML or Excel Logging and Reporting sections for details on how to configure logging and reporting. Then Start the service,
The database will normally be created and logging will normally commence as configured.
9. The windows service will run without a license but is limited to logging 10 tags only. If you have a bought a license go the next section "Licensing"
The windows service runs under the 'local system' account. This account needs to be setup as 'sysadmin' in the used Sql server security
